Ghost Whisperer follows Melinda Gordon, a woman with the rare ability to communicate with spirits. These ghosts remain on Earth because of unfinished business, unable to move on until they find peace. Melinda uses her gift to help them, acting as a bridge between the living and the dead.

She confides in her friend Delia Banks, a single mother who now works with her but struggles to accept the idea of ghosts. Melinda also gets help from Professor Rick Payne, an eccentric expert on the paranormal, who provides insights into the spirits she encounters.
