Rosemary & Thyme follows two gardening lovers, Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme, played by Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris. After meeting by chance, they bond over their shared love of gardening. Rosemary is an expert in plants and works as a tutor at a horticulture university, but she loses her job. Laura, a former police officer, is going through a tough time after her marriage ends, and she has to leave her home and cherished garden.

The two women decide to start a gardening business together, but they quickly find themselves solving mysteries instead of just planting flowers. As they travel from the gardens of England to the Italian Riviera, the South of France, and southern Spain, they discover that there’s often more than just plants growing in these places.
