Vera: Set 9 (DVD)

Vera is called to investigate the murder of a trainee forensic psychologist, Joanne Caswell, whose body was found at a landfill. As Vera digs deeper into the case, she discovers that Joanne had been revisiting an old crime. Vera follows the trail of Joanne's investigation to find out who killed her. Meanwhile, Vera is also called to a case involving a teenager, Caden Lennon, who was found murdered at a shipyard. Caden had run away from care, and Vera believes his death may be linked to a gang and drugs.

In another case, successful businesswoman Lisa Varsey hosts a party for her family on the River Tyne, but things take a tragic turn when her sister Dani is found dead in the water. At first, the family believes it was an accident, but Vera and pathologist Malcolm quickly realize that Dani's death was murder. They uncover rumors about an abusive relationship and soon find out there was more to Dani's life than they initially thought. Vera believes Dani was close to exposing a dangerous truth before her death.

In a cold case, Vera also works to solve a mystery involving a skeleton found beneath the site of a burned-down nightclub. She must piece together the connections between the past and present to uncover the truth. As Vera solves these cases, she uncovers secrets and finds herself uncovering dangerous truths about those involved.
